For over 100 years, this movie soundstage has played host to some of the most iconic movie monsters, mutants, and maniacs. As time passed, strange and unusual occurrences became more frequent. It was unclear whether the sprits that roamed the halls were attached to the stored and forgotten artifacts ... or the building itself. The movie studio could tolerate the myterious activity no more and locked the gates to these relics. History became legend as this stage grew to be the final resting place of so many movie icons. After decades, we are finally opening the doors and uncovering the lost stories of a bygone era. Stories based on actual events.

Now it is your turn to frighten away the ghosts of so many years ago.

What is this event?

This is our first, in-person fundraising event to serve as a “proof of concept.” This event will show who we are, our passion for Abermor’s mission to bring capable people together, and how we plan to move forward in the future. Soundstage 28 will be a fully-functioning, immersive experience that will be open to the public. To give our guests the strength and courage to continue, a full bar with themed drinks and food items will be available for purchase. 100% of sales and donations will go directly to employing people with differing abilities and creating new opportunities for them.

Why Halloween?

National Disability Employment Awareness Month is in October. How do we stay relevant, ahead of trends and always in demand during the month of October? Halloween, obviously.
We are taking our love of the Halloween season and its iconic movies to create an immersive experience for our initial fundraiser.

Why 28?

Our story is loosely based on an actual soundstage located on the Universal Backlot in California. Known as the Phantom Stage, it was home to the original 1925 Paris Opera set of The Phantom of the Opera. This stage was unique in that no other sound stage in Hollywood history has been named after a single film. Rich in cinematic history, there were many stories of this stage being haunted…Stories of a caped figure running around the catwalks — which was believed to be the ghost of Lon Chaney— and reports of a multitude of mysterious activity.
The soundstage was demolished in 2014, though many of the original Opera House set pieces were saved and stored elsewhere.

But, what if the story didn't end there? Instead of tearing down the soundstage, what if they used this space to store unwanted props or sets from movies...? What would happen to these iconic pieces…?

That is where our story begins.
